The article presents a comprehensive analysis of the socio-psychological factors influencing the decision-making process of women subjected to domestic violence. The purpose of the study was to identify the key factors determining the behavior of victims of domestic violence.
The work is based on data obtained as a result of semi-structured interviews with psychologists working with this category of women in various organizations: crisis centers, medical institutions, the emergency service "111", as well as with psychologists conducting private practice. The interview was analyzed using qualitative and quantitative analysis methods. During which it was revealed that, according to experts, sociocultural attitudes, educational level, and social status are the most significant among social factors, while family experience and low self—esteem are among the psychological ones. Additionally, the personality types of women who are more vulnerable to domestic violence have been identified. Quantitative and qualitative analysis allowed for a deep and comprehensive analysis of the collected data. Key codes for analysis were proposed, with the possibility for respondents to add their own options, which provided flexibility and completeness of the study.
The scientific novelty of the study is the emphasis on the decision-making process of women who are subjected to violence, taking into account their social and psychological context. The results of the study can be used to better understand the decision-making mechanism of women facing domestic violence. The data obtained can be used for further research in the field of domestic violence, as well as for the development of future recommendations and the creation of psychological programs for working with victims of domestic violence.
