  1. General Provisions

1.1 «Psychology and cognitive sciences» (hereinafter referred to as the Journal) is a scientific peer-reviewed Journal specializing in the publication of original, high quality, carefully selected papers in the field of psychology and cognitive sciences.

1.2 Journal of Psychology and Cognitive Sciences is the successor of the scientific publication “Bulletin of L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University. Series: Pedagogy. Psychology. Sociology”,published since 1995. The founder (owner) is Non-profit Joint Stock Company “L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University”.

The journal is registered by the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Certificate of new registration No. KZ00VPY00114489 dated 11.03.2025.

1.3 The International Center for Standard Numbers of Serial Editions assigned the index: ISSN -3080-1893.

1.4 The periodicity of the Journal publication: 4 times a year.

1.6 The founder and publisher is Non-commercial joint-stock company “L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University”, 10000 Kazakhstan, Astana, Satpayev str. 2, educational and administrative building of ENU.

1.7. Changes and additions to the editorial policy are made by the decision of the Editorial Board.

Purpose and objectives of the Journal

Objective:

The main goal of the Journal Editorial Board is - to create a reputable international platform for dissemination of high-quality scientific research in psychology and cognitive sciences, aimed at deepening the understanding of mental

processes, human behavior, mechanisms of consciousness and their practical application in various spheres of social and clinical practice.

Objectives:

1) to promote the integration of the results of fundamental and applied research into the international scientific space;

2) to support the development of interdisciplinary research at the intersection of psychology, neurosciences, pedagogy and medicine;

3) to promote innovative methods of diagnostics, correction, prevention and psychotherapy in the field of human mental health;

4)   provide access to up-to-date scientific data and create conditions for the publication of the results of fundamental and applied research, thereby promoting the professional development of researchers, teachers, practitioners, doctoral students, master's students, and undergraduates, as well as strengthening scientific schools and ensuring that the domestic and international scientific community is informed about the latest achievements in the field of psychological sciences;

5) promote ethical and responsible scientific research, adherence to international standards of publication ethics and principles of open science;

6)    maintaining high scientific standards by involving leading foreign and domestic scientists in the field of psychological sciences, engaging them in the preparation of publications and reviewing materials, which contributes to improving the quality of scientific research and its expert evaluation;

7)      providing a scientific platform for the journal to consolidate new ideas in the international arena through detailed presentation and discussion;

8)    improving the quality of scientific articles within the country through the systematic work of the journal's editorial board with authors on the requirements for the structure of articles developed by the journal;

9)      including Kazakhstan in the global scientific space for psychological sciences (including through inclusion in scientometric databases);

10)    striving to reduce the editorial processing time for articles and supporting a flexible schedule for submitting materials to the journal;

11)    integrating Kazakhstani scientists into the international community;

12)    developing the journal as an open access scientific publication;

13)    expanding the journal's presence in international databases and open electronic resources;

14)    increasing the journal's accessibility to foreign readers by publishing an extended summary of the research in English (Abstract), keywords (Keywords), and duplicating the list of references in the Latin alphabet (References).

Directions and periodicity of the Journal

The Journal publishes articles on a wide range of theoretical and applied problems in the field of psychology and cognitive sciences.

The subject matter of the Journal:

The journal is dedicated to publishing original research in the fields of psychology, cognitive sciences, clinical psychology, crisis psychology, neuropsychology, consciousness research and social aspects of human behavior.
